Genesis: The Story Behind Our First Collection

By Burak·February 5, 2026

Every Qurio collection starts with a single question. For Genesis — our first collection, the foundation of everything — the question was: **what does creation look like at its smallest scale?**

Not the Big Bang. Not the formation of continents. Something quieter. The moment a seed cracks open underground. The first mycelium thread reaching through soil. The slow, patient work of moss claiming a stone.

Finding the Theme

Genesis explores origins. The ten pieces in this collection each capture a different "beginning" — a root system (The Root), a forest canopy forming (The Canopy), fungi emerging from decay (The Spore), and seven more moments of natural genesis.

The collection color is deep forest green (#1a3a1a), and each piece uses natural elements that evoke growth, emergence, and the quiet power of nature's first moves.

The Creative Process

Months before any resin was poured, the collection existed only as sketches and mood boards. We studied macro photography of forest floors, researched the lifecycle of moss and fungi, and spent weeks foraging for the right natural elements.

Each piece went through multiple concept iterations. "The Root" alone had four different compositions before we found the arrangement that told the right story — an ancient root system reaching downward, illuminated from behind to reveal every delicate fiber.

What Comes Next

Genesis is Chapter One of the Qurio story. When all ten pieces are complete, the collection culminates in a Masterwork — "Primordial," a 70×100cm piece that synthesizes the entire Genesis narrative into one monumental work, available exclusively through auction.

But Genesis is just the beginning. Chapter One contains four collections: Genesis, Fauna, Remnant, and Void. Each explores a different facet of the natural world, building toward a complete vision of nature preserved in resin.
